I just like to tell you how Great the Blakney and Barber Real Estate team was. We had another firm trying to sell our home for 2 teams so that is a total of 6 months and had very little action. I called the Blakney and Barber Real Estate team and we got the results that we want . We hired them in mid January and they came in and painted the house from top to bottom and then staged it for a very reasonable price . We got a " SOLD " sign on it within 2 months from the time they painted and stage it . To Get the Results you want this team is in your corner all the way. We can't thank them enough for all the hard work that they put in to getting that "SOLD " sign on our home . Everything was done from selling and closing within 3months . Tim was recommended to me by my mortgage broker. Initially I felt that, despite being a first time home buyer I had done considerable research and satisfied my due diligence. I spoke with homeowners who had moved several times, I scoured the internet. To my thinking, if I went in alone I could secure a better price because the selling agent would be motivated to collect his full commission. The best advice I have ever received was to sit down and talk with Tim. I soon realized that I did not even know that which I did not know! I will not try to summarize all he taught me here, there isn't room. I will give you the bottom line. If I had proceeded without Tim in my corner I would have made a binding offer on a house that could not be mortgaged (not even the listing agent knew about that). I would have purchased a furnace not up to code that might not have made it through the winter for lack of maintenance. Yikes. Enter Tim, a wealth of information; he is client centered and excellent at explaining the vastly complex world of (what looked to me to be) a "simple house sale". I hope this review 1) shows the importance of having a realtor represent YOU exclusively when buying or selling and 2) that when searching for a sharp realtor who knows the art of the deal and will negotiate for you with the benefit of tremendous knowledge in his field, (as well as having business contacts all throughout the Kingston area), I don't know if they come any finer than Mr. Tim Barber. Thank you Blakney and Barber! You helped me realize the dream of home ownership and prevented it from becoming a nightmare! If I am ever in the real estate market again, I know exactly who I will call first.
Amazing team! Tim (and Jackie) made our cross-country home purchase very smooth and saved us a lot of stress during our relocation. Tim went the extra miles to help us get as much info as possible about our new house and about the transfer process, which was very comforting and eased our first-time buyer-related anxieties.
