Very friendly and clean store. Nice to have a nice little local store with fresh produce and meat department.
Absolutely my first choice for groceries in Kingston. It's amazing how they have so many choices and the meat counter can't be beat. Their recipes made on site are company worthy.
Not your average corner store. They have a great butcher shop, including locally sourced lamb, home-made sausages, meats roasted on premises and fish kebabs from Mike Mundell. They also sell wonderful fresh produce, including local and organic, and have a good selection of frozen foods. Nice breads and coffees too. You can pick up the canned items, cookies or household items you need urgently but the prices for those are generally higher than the supermarket. Closing at 6 pm and on Sundays is a bit of a drawback for the shopper but no doubt good for the staff and the bottom line. A gem for the surrounding community. No parking lot but street parking is not too difficult and many patrons no doubt just walk there. They do have a ramped entrance on Union for those unable to manage the few steps up on the Livingstone side.
The very best meat in the City of Kingston. I just enjoyed the best T-bone steak ever, cut to order by the friendliest staff. Tell them what you want and they will meet or exceed your desire. Thank you.
We've been shopping at Bearance's for decades. We feel very at home there with the friendly, welcoming staff, and enjoy running into friends and acquaintances. We particularly like the wide selection of meats, both 'as is' and marinated, cooked, stuffed or in brochettes. The fruit and veggies are very reliably fresh - and I even found cherries there today, when I could no longer find them at Loblaws or Farm Boy. The selection of food and household products is remarkable given its size.
